The United States and Jordan have announced a new Agreement on Reciprocal Trade designed to expand market access, improve customs procedures, and strengthen supply chain resilience between the two countries.
Under the agreement, Jordan will continue providing duty-free access for nearly all U.S. goods exported to its market. Jordan has also committed to removing non-tariff barriers and creating greater opportunities for American products, including agricultural goods and motor vehicles.
Additional commitments focus on protecting labor rights, preventing the importation of goods produced through forced labor, enforcing environmental laws, strengthening intellectual property protections, and promoting fair trade practices.
The two countries also plan to cooperate more closely on investment security, export controls, duty evasion, and policies involving third countries. These measures are intended to support more secure, innovative, and resilient global supply chains.
The agreement builds upon the U.S.–Jordan Free Trade Agreement, which has been in effect since December 17, 2001, and represents another step forward in the countries' longstanding economic relationship.
